Day three of the government shut down. Taxpayers may now deduct 3/365th off their tax bill. Don’t pay for services not rendered. Is there any reason to reelect the current cast of characters back to Congress? That includes Republicans, Democrats, and Tea Party congresspersons.
Budgets are funny. I recall that when I was a cadet back in 1964, I received $10 per month for personal expenses. I purchased the cheapest aftershave, hair oil, shaving cream and so forth. At the end of the month, I still had money left over. The next year I started receiving $50 per month and
I was broke all the time. I wonder if increasing taxes is always the best option.
Army, Navy, and Air Force Academies will be able to play football after all. Apparently, funding for these games does not come from the government. Academy officials did not know that when they announced that they might have to cancel the games. What? There is no truth to the rumor that the Commander’s Trophy this year will be a firm handshake with the President and a pat on the back.
