I see in the news that a protestor interrupted First Lady Michelle Obama and that she threatened to leave a nighttime fundraiser. She was speaking a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Washington. The crowd started shouting for Mrs. Obama to stay and security removed the protester.
I think that she handled the situation well. I am a firm believer in free speech but there is a time and place to protest. It is not fair to the other attendees to have to listen to someone when they came to hear Ms. Obama speak. Free speech is fine, but we must have decorum and rules of etiquette. I guess it is still better than throwing shoes.
Protestors interrupt speakers for attention and it works. We may not agree with the action
or the political opinions of protestors, but it makes the news and that is what the protestors want.
