Apparently, the city council has no legal recourse to remove him from office unless the police arrest and convict him of a crime. I am sure that will change in the near future. So
far, he has confessed to smoking cocaine, public dunkenness and threating to murder someone. The police have some of that evidence on video but still have not charged him with any crime. It is time to investigate the police and find out what it is that the mayor has on the chief. Are they drinking buddies? Do they do drugs together? Something will come out soon.
Now Ford has admitted to buying illegal drugs. Apparently, the Toronto police cannot use confessions. His staff has revealed that he has driven while intoxicated (DWI). They also said that he was verbally abusive and inappropriate with a female staff member on St. Patrick's Day. They reported that he has been drunk frequently in his office. Double duh! Drunken, drug users abusive? Inappropriate? I don’t believe it. I am sure that the city has a policy of drinking while at work. Maybe not.
Ford insists that he is "a positive role model for kids." Duh again. What role? How to use drugs? How to throw away a career?
Ford says with a straight face that he is not addicted while standing there obviously 100 pounds overweight. (Click to tweet.) People with addictions usually are addicted to more than one thing. He has food addictions. It may be sugar, soda or doughnuts. I’m thinking that he and the police chief do doughnuts together. I have not seen a picture of the chief. New evidence is coming out about Ford and prostitutes. I can’t wait. All but two of his staff said they would accept an open letter asking Ford to resign or a leave of absence.
The Secret Service is also in the news again for using prostitutes. According to CNN, two supervisors also sent sexually suggestive e-mails to a female employee. What? Prostitutes aren't enough? When will the secret Service get serious about making a vow of celibacy a condition for employment in the Secret Service? (Click to Tweet) Can we bring back the use of eunuchs?
I cautioned about using work e-mail systems in my e-book, Leadership for New Managers: Book Two, http://smashword.com/b/300090.
